This is a seated studio view of a Civil War soldier in uniform. Union or Confederate? He wears a dark shell jacket with short stand-up collar. The image is clear with very good contrast. The image and mount have a slight crease. No photographer's backmark. Modern pencil note on back, "N. Orleans".
