CDV is of an unidentified Confederate major seated in a partial left profile. He wears a light-colored double-breasted frock coat with matching trousers. His collar and cuffs are tinted red and the galloons on his sleeves have a hint of gold gilt. Clearly visible on his collar is the single star of his rank. The subject’s cheeks are also lightly tinted rose.
Contrast and clarity are good. Mount and paper have light to moderate surface dirt. Paper has a very tiny chip at upper left and the bottom area shows some light rubbing but nothing major.
Reverse is blank.
Image came from an album of Tennessee images. [ad] [ph:L]
