Image shows Butler seated at center with three officers standing behind him. All the officers are dressed in dark frock coats and trousers. Two of the officers are Company grade as they wear single-breasted frock coats and one is a Field grade officer. The officer standing at center looks to be Captain George A. Kensel who was Butler’s chief of artillery.
Contrast and clarity are very good. Mount has worn upper right corner otherwise the mount and paper are good.
Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for R. H. DEWEY… PITTSFIELD, MASS. [ad][ph:L]
