Photo is a CDV of Otis H. Parker seated with one arm resting on a table. He wears a dark frock coat with matching trousers. Visible on the right chest is a small ID disk. Parker also wears his waist belt and cap box. In his lap he holds a small caliber revolver. His forage cap is on the table next to him with a Company letter “D” on the front of the crown with the regimental number “3” above it.

Clarity is good but the contrast could be a bit better. Mount and paper are a little wider than a normal CDV. Paper has some spotting and staining. Top and bottom edges of the mount are slightly timed. Bottom center has a large period ink ID of “O. H. PARKER.”

Reverse is blank but does have biographical information written in modern pencil.

Otis H. Parker was 21 years old when he enlisted as a private in Company D, 3rd New York Infantry at Albany on April 23, 1861. He was accidently shot and killed by a sentinel at Fort Monroe, Va. on April 28, 1863.

While with the 3rd Parker was at the battle of Big Bethel and also served in Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland and Suffolk, Virginia before going to Fort Monroe.

His place of burial is unknown. [ad] [ph:L]
