Full standing view of Stringer in civilian clothes. The image is clear with good contrast. Photographer's backmark, B. & G. Moses, New Orleans. Identified by way of another CDV (with ink identification) of him as member of the Pelican Hook & Ladder Co.

Edward Stringer enlisted on May 1, 1861 into Company A, 7th Louisiana Infantry. Present at Bull Run, 2nd Manassas, Middletown, and Winchester. Discharged on November 1, 1862.
