CDV is a waist-up sitting view of Confederate General Fitzhugh Lee. He is wearing a dark colored double-breasted frock coat. This image is a copy from the original CDV. Bottom of mount is labeled, “GEN. FITZ HUGH LEE”.
Reverse has a seller’s imprint which reads, “THE MONUMENTAL BOOKSTORE, 178 W. BALTO. ST. BALTIMORE, WM. F. RICHSTEIN”.
Image is clear and the contrast is good. Surface has some light dirt from age.
Fitzhugh Lee (November 19, 1835 – April 28, 1905) was a Confederate cavalry general in the American Civil War, the 40th Governor of Virginia, diplomat, and United States Army general in the Spanish–American War. He was the son of Sydney Smith Lee, a captain in the Confederate States Navy, and the nephew of General Robert E. Lee.
