This outdoor image was taken between 1864 and 1873. It shows the four-story Wabank House on Broad Street in Lititz. The hotel originally stood in Lancaster and opened its doors in 1855. In the summer of 1863 the hotel was sold, dismantled and moved to Lititz where it reopened in July of 1864. The building was destroyed by fire in 1873.
The image is a little on the light side but it is a good view of the entire building. The reverse has a photographer’s imprint for GILL’S CITY GALLERY….LANCASTER, PA.” [ph:L]
