CABINET CARD OF UNKNOWN CONFEDERATE OFFICER

$75.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1266-780

This is a post-Civil War copy of a Confederate officer. This is a nice 4.25” x 6.5” cabinet card photograph. The image is a studio view of the officer standing with one hand on a pedestal. This southern officer wears a dark kepi on his head and a double-breasted frock coat with galloon on the cuffs.

The mount features the photographer’s imprint on the lower edge, “CAMPBELL & Co. / 429 E. BROAD ST. / RICHMOND.” The backmark graphic covers the entire back of the mount illustrating photographic equipment and with photographer’s name and address repeated.

There is some soiling and foxing of the front, but overall a fine view of a Confederate officer. From the William Turner collection.  [jet] [ph:L]
