Image shows Sedley A. Lowd of Company K. He wears a dark civilian suit with white shirt and a dark bowtie. Bottom of the mount has a printed caption with his name and Company.
Image has very good clarity and contrast. Mount and paper are good with only light surface dirt. There is a very small puncture to the card on the subject’s forehead.
Reverse has a period ink inscription of “SEDLEY A. LOWD CO. K 2ND REGT N.H.V. DERRY DEPOT N.H. RECPD. OCT. 19TH 1889 (NO STAMPS.)”
Sedley A. Lowd was born April 21, 1841 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He enlisted as a private in Company K, 2nd New Hampshire Infantry on May 21, 1861 and deserted on April 18, 1863. He returned to the regiment on September 2, 1863 and was mustered out on June 21, 1864.
