CDV album has brown leather cover with embossed design on the front and back. Leather is in fair condition, with some wear all over, but especially on the spine, edges and corners. Leather on spine is torn, which has made the front cover loose. Cover is embossed in gold with the name, “MRS. S.F. KING”.

Album has a printed lining on inside of front and back covers. All pages are present and intact. There is a title page labeled, “PHOTOGRAPHS” and several index pages with no writing. The edges of the pages are gold gilt which has retained its brightness. The album closes with two decorative gold colored metal clasps which are still firmly attached.

Album contains 31 images. There is space for 40 images. There are a variety of men, women and children of all ages. Men are in civilian attire and two are in military uniforms. These images are of individuals, and families. Backmarks checked were from Philadelphia; the bust view of a man with a beard in uniform has a Fortress Monroe backmark.

Album measures approx. 5” x 6 ¼” x 2”.

This is a great album for a collector of Civil War era civilian and military images.  [sm][ph:L]
