Very nice Victorian frame houses a retouched albumen photograph of an unknown U.S. Navy officer. He is wearing a dark colored, double-breasted frock coat with naval buttons, shoulder straps, a white shirt and cravat. Image has yellowed with age but is clear with good contrast. Mat surrounds image. Mat shows light surface dirt and spotting.
Gilt frame measures 16 ¾” x 18 ¾”. Shows scattered scratches and nicks. Loops are mounted on reverse for hanging. [SL][ph:L]
