Item is an aqua colored glass Civil War era umbrella inkwell with a molded lip. It is very, very rare to find these with the original label.  Partial label on light green paper reads, “____ BLACK / WRITING / INK / PREPARED BY / SAMUEL S. STAFFORD / CHEMIST / NEW YORK.”  Overall excellent condition, no visible chips or cracks.  Contains remains of dried ink inside, with cork present.  [ld][ph:L]
