Small pack of Civil War period sewing needles in nice condition.
The needles are wrapped in brown paper with a printed white paper label decorated with a three masted sailing ship at center. The label reads “H. MILWARD & SONS PATENT HELIX NEEDLES. SHARP’S 10 PATENT NEEDLES. J. H. MILWARD SOLE AGENT 1857.”
There is also a smaller label on the top flap that reads “MANUFACTURED AND WARRANTED BY H. MILWARD & SONS (??) ENGLAND.” A small part of the label surface is rubbed and a little difficult to read.
Pack is full and meas. approx. 1.50 x 0.75 of an inch when closed.
This item is from the estate of the late Dennis Reen who was a well-known and longtime Civil War collector.
