This Westerwald salt glazed wine jug with handle has a cobalt vine design and banding.
Westerwald stoneware is a salt glazed pottery found in the Westerwald region of Germany since the beginning of the 15th century. Some stoneware is decorated with maganese or cobalt designs, such as this piece.
Jug measures 8.75" tall by 2.75" in diameter at the base. Stoneware shows a few small random chips, plus chipping at the edge of the base which is typical from age and use. [sl][ph:L]
