Item Code: 690-25
Item comes wrapped in plastic and housed in a riker box. This hardtack cracker meas. approx. 2.75 x 3.00 inches with 4 rows of 4 holes each. Upper left has very small, thin piece missing while upper right corner has crack. The plastic wrap supports the piece well and should prevent any further problems. Someone has written or scribbled on the face in pencil. The bottom most writing looks like “7 Ill. V” which maybe for 7th Illinois Volunteers? Whatever the scribbling on the face means it is still a wonderful relic of the Civil War soldier’s diet.
