Pewter mug features a glass bottom. Marked on side, “T&C / 5”. Hallmarks are also present. Made by Townsend & Compton in London, England, who were in business from 1801-1817. Townsend and Compton were Quakers and exported mainly to the Quaker communities around Philadelphia. They produced some of the highest quality products that found their way to America.
Measures just over 4” at the base x 4 ½” high. No dents or dings. Pewter has darkened with age. [sl]
