CLASSIC CIVIL WAR ERA FIFE – NICELY REPAIRED

$40.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1256-200

This Civil War era fife was likely made by either Hall; Peeler, Firth, and Pond; or Klemm.

Made of beautiful and rich Rosewood, the finger holes are uniformly sized and there is no wear around the mouthpiece/lip piece. At one point, this fife suffered a split from the mouthpiece to the first hole but was filled and repaired.

The German Silver ferrules have 2 lines of patterned scribing, with the ferrule nearer the mouthpiece bearing two letters, either “T N” or “T S” depending on how it was intended to be read.

Fife is fully functional and plays well. A nicer “player” instrument or an excellent addition to a Civil War collection or display.  [CM][ph:C/L]
