Socks are in excellent condition. The cotton has browned just a bit from age and each toe has a very tiny hole about the size of a pencil eraser.
Sewn into the inside top of each sock is a cloth label with a period ink ID that looks reads “E. D. DICKERMAN.”
19th Century socks are not often seen and this would be a great pair to use to fill out a display of soldier items. [ad] [ph:L]
