PAIR OF ISAAC & CAMPBELL KNAPSACK HOOKS, RECOVERED NEAR ORANGE, VA

$145.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1184-309

This is an excavated Confederate knapsack buckle and hook from an imported knapsack manufactured by S. Isaac Campbell & Company in London. This company supplied numerous articles of war to the Confederacy.

This is the brass J-hook and the corresponding loop/buckle that would have been on the shoulder strap of the knapsack. The J-hook is bent just enough so that it remains attached to the other piece.

These have a green patina and a dusting of dirt. The single tine remains in place.

Recovered near Orange, Virginia.  [jet] [ph:L]
