Red, white and blue cotton sash was meant to wear over the neck. The two end pieces are hand-sewn together and feature a cockade in the center. A star made out of gold bullion is in the center of the cockade. Fringe decorates the entire outside edge of sash. Backing is solid red cotton.
Sash measures approx. 24 ½” long on each side x 8 ½ wide at the bottom, not including fringe. Fringe measures 1 ¼” long. Shows small scattered holes and areas of fraying. Colors have faded with age, and white has yellowed. Red has bled onto white at lower right corner. [sl]
