This Westerwald salt glazed crock with double handles has a cobalt blue chicken design on one side, floral design on the reverse side, and banding.
Westerwald stoneware is a salt glazed pottery found in the Westerwald region of Germany since the beginning of the 15th century. Some stoneware is further decorated with manganese or cobalt designs.
Crock measures 14” high x 8 ½” at base x 9” at the top rim. No cracks and one chip on the surface at the right of the chicken design. [sm]
