EXCELLENT NON-DUG CONFEDERATE SPUR

$375.00 ON HOLD

Quantity Available: 1

Item Code: 2024-695

This non-excavated Confederate spur with a Texas provenance was displayed at the Texas Civil War Museum next to an identical one dug at a campsite in Missouri. This is in excellent condition, with no bends or breaks and has the iron rowel with all points in place. The sidebars are concave but the neck has flat sides and is almost straight, coming out of the upper portion of the heel, then flaring slightly and drooping to the rowel. The brass has a medium tone. The rowel shows a mix of bright metal with a little light brown. See our other offerings for the excavated example. The two provide a good southern connection for the style with evidence of field use.  [sr] [PH:L]
