CUT DOWN M1 BAYONET IN PLASTIC SCABBARD

$150.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 755-04

This bayonet was originally 20.00 inches long but was cut down for World War Two use. It is easily recognizable as a cut down blade by the fact that the central fuller runs through to the point.

The bayonet is marked at the ricasso on one side with a strong “U. C.” for Utica Cutlery over “US” over “1942.” Between the markings “U. S.” is a bursting bomb. The opposite ricasso is marked “U. F. H.” for the Union Fork & Hoe company who did the work of shortening the bayonet from its original length.

Blade is mostly bright with light scattered mottling.

Grip is black Bakelite type material that is in good condition with no cracks.

Green plastic scabbard has white metal throat with ordnance bombe insignia with “US” at center.

A nice example of a cut-down US bayonet.  [ad] [ph:m]
