Original black bridle leather scabbard with bridle leather frog. This was for the Model 1855 socket bayonet (bayonet not included). The body is in very good condition with just a few scuffs. The stitched seam running up the back remains complete and unbroken. Brass scabbard tip attached with four tacks.
Arched leather frog is in good condition with some loss of finish in spots. The frog is seven rivet style and is sewn to the scabbard. Frog has oval marker’s stamp. The leather has had some type of treatment.
A very nice scabbard. [jet] [ph:L]
