Dated 1906, with crisp ”R.I.A.” [Rock Island Arsenal], and “E.H.S.” inspector markings. Leather scabbard with metal throat, 16.625” length, 1.75” in width. Overall length, with japanned metal belt loop attachment, 22”. Scabbard leather exhibits minor dings and a crease on both sides five inches below throat, but with no cracking. Belt loop attachment a trifle loose, but serviceable. Solid display piece, fine bayonet collectible. [jp]
