VERY FINE FLAP HOLSTER FOR .44 CALIBER “ARMY” REVOLVERS

$950.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1268-274C

This is a regulation leather holster made to accommodate a large revolver such as a Colt or Remington “Army” revolver.

Holster is made with a total of five pieces of black bridle leather. The holster measures 10.5” along the front edge of the “pocket”. Flap is sewn to the top of the “pocket” with a double row of straight stitching. The belt loop is 3.5” wide across the top fold and secured by three rivets on top, with three more rivets and a double line of stitching at the bottom. A leather closing tab is stitched to the underside of the flap. This tab closes over a brass finial sewn into the side of the pocket. The smallest piece is the leather nose cap which remains securely sewn into the bottom of the pocket.

Leather remains smooth and pliable and is in very good condition overall. The only spot showing any issue is a small tear at the front edge of the belt loop. All stitching remains complete and unbroken.

This is a beautiful, regulation flap holster of the Civil War. From the Texas Civil War Museum collection.   [jet][ph:L]
