This is a non-regulation leather holster made to accommodate a large revolver such as a Colt or Remington “Army” revolver.
The holster measures 11.25” along the front edge of the pocket. Holster is made from one piece of fine brown leather. Flap held closed by an English style, flat-headed brass finial. The belt loop is 2” wide and secured by three rivets on top and bottom. Holster’s nose cap has been removed.
Leather remains smooth and pliable and is in very good condition. Initials “W.A.B.” are lightly carved on the flap and body. Additional fine lines are lightly carved at the bottom of the flap surrounding the finial slot. A small script “B” is also stamped on the flap and body. All stitching along back seam remains complete and unbroken.
The “form” of a large revolver can be seen in the shape of the leather pocket.
