Hard to find, this is a black leather holster made to accommodate the Colt, Remington and other .44 caliber “Army” revolvers.
The holster measures about 15” long with its flap closed. Holster is made from two pieces of black bridle leather; the flap being machine-stitched to the body. The closure tab is sewn and riveted to the underside of the flap. This tab is unbroken and flexible. Holster has a wide belt loop on the reverse that measures 3 ½” wide at the top and is still strongly stitched and riveted in place. Loop is strong, but slightly stiff and shows some finish loss. Holster body still retains its a leather plug sewn to close the muzzle end of the holster. With a revolver inserted, the flap fits perfectly over the handle and the closure tab secures over the small brass finial attached to the main body. There are no makers’ marks visible. All stitching remains strong and tight.
In overall exceptional condition, this holster shows light use.
This is a good, military-style flap holster that would accommodate an “Army” sized revolver. [jet]
