Indian Wars era box constructed of two halves and hinged with a brass rod. Interior features stitched straps for twenty .45-70 Springfield trapdoor cartridges. “Bulge” on right side for gun tool. Brass finial on top. Closing tab has brass reenforced hole. Two narrow belt loops on back.
Leather is in fine condition; stitching remains tight and unbroken. Some wear to closing tab, upper edges of back loops, and along left edge of back half where it fits inside the front half.
