The outer leather flap of the box has a bubbled tar finish with some stiffness. There is some light crazing and dirt. Otherwise, the leather is in good complete condition. The underside has an iron latch that is attached by a single copper rivet.
The body of the box has a brown russet leather body with ends that are, like the flap, covered with a bubbled black tar. Bottom of the box has the iron catch for the latch.
Interior has a tin insert with twenty-four cylindrical holders for .69 rounds.
Reverse of the box has both the stiff white buff leather beltloops. Measures approx. 7” wide, 2 ½” deep and 3” tall. [ad] [ph:L]
