The leather of this box is in good condition. Exterior surfaces show only light surface crazing in areas.
The outer flap is made with the latch tab being an integral part of it. This tab shows some use but is solid.
The inner flap is excellent with both ears and a strong stamping of “WATERTOWN ARSENAL 1864” in three lines. Interior has good lamb’s wool but no nipple pick.
The body and reverse of the box are also in good condition. Both belt loops are present and show some crazing and surface cracks. Brass finial is present at bottom. [ad] [ph:L]
