Leather box to hold musket cartridges. Large black bridal leather box, with bold “USN” outer flap marking. Leather remains pliable with light wear. Latch tab is present and solid. Large single belt loop on back is fine. Stitching uniformly excellent. The exterior of this box is very good.
The interior has been altered significantly. Probably used post-war to experiment with changing patterns, this box shows various lines of stitching and nail holes. A solid wood form remains in the box. Overall in very good displayable condition. [jet]
