Original pistol cartridge box with clean leather and tight seams. Outer flap shows minor cracking to the finish but it is still in very fine shape. There are three stampings on the flap: script “US” on lower left corner, the maker’s name and “Newark, NJ” under the center rivet, and a rectangular inspector’s cartouche (T.J. Shepard) in lower right corner. Latch tab is complete and held in place with single row of stitching arched over a rivet. The interior of the box is very good. The back has both belt loops. Belt loops are stitched and riveted. Brass finial is present on bottom. [jet]
