The leather of the outer flap shows moderate wear but is smooth and supple. The latch tab is present and solid. There is a nice inspector’s stamp that reads “R. WHITE / U. S. ORD. DEPT. / SUB-INSPECTOR”
The inner flap has some light wear and surface dirt. Both ears are present. The inner flap also has a maker’s mark of “S. H. YOUNG / NEWARK, N.J.” There is no fleece or pick on the inside. The body is in nice, smooth condition with wear around the edges and some surface dirt. Brass finial is present on bottom. The reverse has both belt loops which are in good condition.
