US MODEL 1851 OFFICER’S BELT RIG

$475.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 172-2817

The leather belt is in fair condition and exhibits signs of hard use. There is some light surface crackling throughout as well as dust and dirt from age. The edges of the belt each have a tooled line for decoration and a line of stitching. Both sword drops are missing but the sword hook and shield are present. Also present is the shoulder support strap. This strap is torn half way through in one spot and is hanging by a thread just above the adjustment buckle.

The rectangular plate is the correct officer pattern with a very detailed and pronounced eagle and wreath. The plate has a very dark patina as does the brass keeper. The reverse of the plate has a wide tongue.
