Black leather belt is supple with some light crazing and peeling. Belt has reinforced back with brass buckle for hanging the drop. There is also a stitched leather tab which has torn. All other stitching is tight. One side of belt has brass hook which slides into punched holes for size adjustment. Entire length of belt measures 41 inches and is 1 ½ inches wide.
Pattern 1851 officer’s plate features spread-winged eagle on the face along with keeper. Original gilt is bright. Both the plate and the keeper have a matching bench mark of 13.
This is a great piece for a Cavalry display. [sm]
