MARKED U.S. NAVY ENLISTED BELT

$875.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 853-151

Regulation belt made of blackened buff leather.  This pattern belt and japanned iron friction buckle seems to have appeared in 1862.  It is specifically detailed as a regulation issue item by the 4th edition of the Ordnance Manual. Underside of belt still shows its original white buff color and is stencilled in black ink: "U.S.N.Y. BOSTON 186_". This specimen is very soft and pliable. It has a sewn floating keeper. Overall length is approx. 41 inches. An exceptional belt.  [JET]
