The leather on this belt is in excellent pliable condition. The belt meas. approx. 2.00 inches wide and approx. 44.00 inches long. Attached to one end is a japanned black square friction buckle that is attached to the belt by two copper rivets. Also on the belt is a sliding leather keeper that is both sewn and riveted.
The belt is in excellent condition with just the lightest surface dirt throughout. There is no dryness, flaking or stiffness. The exterior of the leather has been dyed black while the interior is a natural color that has darkened with age.
A wonderful example of a rare Civil War Navy item.
