This is a leather shoulder sling designed for use with English Enfield rifles.
The sling has a fixed leather loop at one end and a brass wire hook on the other, which is mounted under a sewn down flap. The hook engaged one of holes along the length of the sling, which allowed the length to be adjusted. There are also two sliding leather loops remaining. The sling is approximately 73” long overall including the brass hook, and 1.25” wide.
This original musket sling is in used condition. Brown leather; unstamped. All of the leather loops are in good condition. There is cracking and crazing to the surface finish overall; one weak spot. Leather is supple and could be put onto a rifle again. [jet] [ph:L]
