Excellent condition white buff leather bayonet shoulder sling for M1842 bayonet scabbard. Belt is just a hair under 2” wide. Outside surface was chalked or painted at some point. Leather has some very minor stains but is overall very clean and supple. Sewn-on belt-loop keeper remains securely in place. Small “cut” for brass hook on the M1842 bayonet scabbard is present just above the bayonet frog portion of the belt. All stitching is complete and unbroken. Clearly written in brown ink on the inside surface is “J.M. French / “I” Co”.
Round “eagle” NCO buckle has three wire hooks and is in good condition. The brass face does have a mellow patina to the background that makes the rim and eagle stand out nicely.
Beautiful bayonet shoulder belt rig in amazing condition. [jet]
