This thick white buff leather rifle sling is for the Model 1841 Mississippi rifle. One end has a fixe keeper while the other end has a brass hook. The sling also has a sliding leather keeper.
There are two tooled lines running parallel to the edges and the end with the fixed keeper is maker and inspector marked. Both are readable. The inspector’s mark has “R. WHITE / U.S. / ORD. DEPT.” and the maker’s mark is “S. H. YOUNG / CO. / NEWARK / N.J.”
Leather is in outstanding condition with only surface dirt and some minor staining.
