This is a large black felt oval that meas. approx. 4.25 x 3.00 inches. The border is outlined with a single strand of dead bullion. At center are crossed sabers made of thick bullion thread with some bright bullion on the hilt. Thick oak leaves of bullion thread with bright bullion stems surrounds the sabers. The bullion still sparkles some and the black velvet does not have a moth nip on it. The back of the piece is tin with a separate tin mount. The mount has both loops but only one pin. The size of this insignia makes it obvious that it is meant for wear on the Hardee hat.
