Straps are sewn to a dark blue uncut wool broadcloth backing. The double border is done with bright and dull bullion thread alternating every three threads. The 1st lieutenant bars within the sky blue felt rank field are done the same way.
Reverse of each has a white buckram backing with period ink number notations.
A close look at the rank field will show light wear from age and storage and one wire on the corner of one of the straps is slightly loose but otherwise the straps are in exceptional condition. [ad][ph:L]
