Brass 5th corps badge has a darkened patina. This badge has a loop at the top for attachment purposes. Corps badges were attached to the soldier’s hat or left side of the uniform. This avoided confusion on the battlefield as a soldier could quickly be identified. Corps badges became a great source of regimental pride to the men who wore them. Recovered in the Richmond, VA area.

Excellent collectible.
