Civil War era officer’s belt buckle. Cast brass eagle buckle which has integral wreath. The brass buckle has a dark patina. This has the bigger 1” wide hook on back. This has a bench mark “18” on the belt loop of the plate. No keeper. Measures 50mm tall. The details on the face are raised very high and show only light wear. Sun rays are only between the eagle’s wings at top and stippled background elsewhere.
