Dragoon pattern buckle with oval fastening studs on the reverse side. Nice face with light patina with traces of original gilt finish in areas around the raised letters. Leather belt was made from a cartridge box sling. The belt has two small slits where a breast plate would have been. The interior also has an unusual “tooled” pattern which resembles a false stitching. No doubt with buckle for many, many years.
