Blank smooth brass plate, measuring 2.25 x 3.25”. With two small apertures, centered for attachment of letters or numerals, with three reverse “arrow” hooks. Plate is clean, exhibiting dark coppery patina with minor nicks round the edge. Reverse hooks solid. Else VG. Militia plates such as these, with militia letter and numeral attachments, were seen in the early phase of the war.
