Interior maker mark Horstmann Bros.; interior paper label, 80% intact reads "MANUFACTURED BY HORSTMANN, BROTHERS & CO. / Military Furnishers / Fifth & Cherry Streets, / PHILADELPHIA." Standard infantry bass drum, measuring 26.5" diameter and 19" height . The original shell features a painted image of a spread wing bald eagle with flag shield, & a red ribbon set against a blue background. includes two .5" peep holes.
The drum has its original calf skin heads and ropes with 32 original leather tighteners. The original cloth strap is intact. A crack in the middle of the drum has been reinforced from the inside. A restoration label reads "RESTORED W.H. Reader / July 1998".
The drum also comes with its leather covered wooden mallet, which measures 17" length.
