The primary usage of “HAMES” was as part of a heavy-draft harness, to which the trace chains are fastened. They are usually found attached over the collar device of horses or mules aligned on Artillery teams.
This pair consists of two curved iron bars with iron (Swivel) attachments, rings, and straps. Each is approximately 25” long. Each piece is stamped with manufacturer’s markings, “PRUYN & LANSING, ALBANY MEDUIUM / U.S”.
This set is in very good condition. The overall surface finish of the iron hardware is darkened with age and there is some random pitting present. A nice matching set. [jet] [ph:L]
Extra shipping charge may be necessary.
