Brass bugle of the 1894 pattern which was smaller in size than its predecessors meas. approx. 9.50 inches long.
The bugle has a double twist with two “O” rings for holding a cord. Tubes are in good condition with no major dings or dents.
Brass surface has a nice mixed patina with the areas more likely to be touched during handling being lighter than the rest. Even the mouthpiece matches the rest of the brass showing it is original to the bugle.
Detachable mouthpiece is marked “B & J. N.Y.” and the stem has four tick marks. Faintly scratched into the top neck of the bell is “HOWARD ELAM.”
With the bugle are the remains of a twisted cord. [ad] [ph:L]
